Slough Chess Club
Since 1957
The first meetings of the Slough Chess Club date back to the 60’s at the Slough Community Center on Farnham Road (originally opened in April 1937 by Queen Mary). Some time later, the club secured a more permanent residence at the Lady Haig Royal British Legion Club Ltd on Stoke Road where it flourished for 42 years. In 2012 the club was forced to relocate with Herby Ferris helping to negotiate a new location for the club at the Polish Association in Stoke Poges. Slough Chess Club currently has 15 members and enters two divisions in the Buckinghamshire League.
